How this site works
This is a small, independent site. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which also forwards email sent to this domain.
What's measured. I count visits to see which projects interest people. Cloudflare Web Analytics and PostHog record page views and clicks without cookies and without storing your IP address. They're set up so that I can't identify you from them.
If you sign up. Your email address is stored by Kit, which sends the updates. I use it for the updates you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To have your address deleted, write to me and I will.
If this project changes hands, for example moving to my company, the subscriber list would move with it, and this page would say so.
Who is responsible

Services this site uses
Each service below handles data for this site. Their own privacy policies describe how they store and protect it.
Cloudflare
Hosts this site and forwards email sent to addresses at this domain.
- Data
- Standard request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested), handled by Cloudflare to deliver and protect the site. Email sent to this domain passes through Cloudflare on its way to me.
- Legal basis
- Legitimate interest in delivering a working, secure website and receiving your email.
- Policy
- cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Cloudflare Web Analytics
Counts page views. Cloudflare Pages adds it to every page it hosts.
- Data
- Page views and page-load timing, without cookies. Cloudflare does not use it to identify individual visitors.
- Legal basis
- Legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read.
- Policy
- cloudflare.com/web-analytics/
PostHog
Counts page views, clicks on links, and newsletter sign-up attempts, so I can see which projects interest people.
- Data
- Those events, the page they happened on, and a short-lived anonymous identifier. No cookies or browser storage are used; your IP address is used only to compute that identifier and is not stored. Nothing you type is recorded.
- Legal basis
- Legitimate interest in understanding which projects interest readers, using a method that does not identify you.
- Kept
- PostHog keeps event data for up to one year on my plan.
- Policy
- posthog.com/privacy
Kit
Stores newsletter subscribers and sends the updates.
- Data
- Your email address, when and where you signed up, and whether you open or click the emails.
- Legal basis
- Your consent, given when you sign up and confirm by email. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
- Kept
- Until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it.
- Policy
- kit.com/privacy
Where your data is processed
These services are based in the United States, so data about your visit or sign-up may be processed there. Each provider describes the safeguards it uses for international transfers in its own policy.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can write to hello@zensteve.com to ask what I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to receive a copy. You can withdraw your newsletter consent at any time through the unsubscribe link. If you are in the EU or UK you can also object to or restrict processing, and complain to your data protection authority. California residents have the same rights to know, correct, and delete. Using these rights does not change how the site works for you.
Cookies and tracking signals. This site sets no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. Because nothing is tracked across sites, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change what it records.
Children. This site is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If what the site uses changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. The list of services above is generated from the site's own configuration, so it reflects what the site actually loads.
